💫 Violet 💫 Always a pure classic to come back to, never a dull moment through the album 🤙🏻 Favorite track: Turnt (feat. Rapper Shane).
G-Prime

G-Prime It's hard to describe an album that is at once so graceful and cohesive, yet so demented. A synthwave core overlaid with heavy elements of prog-rock, punk, even a bit of industrial and rap/hip-hop. All I know is it hits all the right buttons for me: heavy beats, liberal use of distortion, fantastic vocals, and song progressions that are hard to predict yet come across fantastically. Favorite track: LOL she's "fluent in sarcasm".
Watermelon Banzai
Watermelon Banzai thumbnail
Watermelon Banzai The Warhorse is one of the few truly unique synth-infused acts out there so it's hard to classify exactly what they are in turn. Unfortunately, as a consequence to that, they're often left out of the conversation when it comes to talking about the synthwave scene and its numerous subgenres. However, The Warhorse is unapologetic in this regard and simply sneers at such conventions by just doing its own thing and that thing is to release such a genre-defying album like CHUBS which simply kills. Favorite track: Welcome to Los Angeles.

lbarid Never before have I heard deep, dark synth wave mixed in such a smooth chilled-out way.

The album flows beautifully, creating a melancholic, isolated atmosphere.

If you're about achieving a certain ambience during your listening sessions, this one encapsulates the feel of the loneliest big city in the world - Los Angeles - perfectly. Favorite track: Lollapalo$er.

about

The Warhorse is a Silverlake-based retrowave / synthpunk / nihilist-pop band and professional beer consumption unit. To put it more poetically: a post-apocalyptic Rick James industrial fever dream, a tropical dystopia from an alternate future, a detuned analog sunset over an ocean of apathetic heartbeats. (Is that hipster enough for you?) Wrangling influences of 80's party pop, thrashy garage punk, and modern industrial hipstertronica chillwave, The Warhorse thrives on melted synths, destroyed beats, and uncomfortable pitch-shifted vocals. It's kind of dark and rather silly. Rest assured, your parents are gonna HATE it.

TL;DR... THE WARHORSE IS:
- SYNTHY
- DUMB
- ANGSTY
- 100% GLUTEN-FREE.

CHUBS is The Warhorse's feisty full-length debut. 10 sardonic all-new tracks on your choice of 180g vinyl, dual-sided cassette, or old-fashioned computers. LA Music blog said the songs are "nuanced and layered, accessible and atmospheric," while NUBI Magazine calls it "a special mix of mesmerizing and insanity," but honestly, that gives it a lot of credit.

The Warhorse was totally amped to work with mixing/mastering wizard Jason Staniulis at Germano Studios in New York (so basically this album is as good as Yeezus, right?). Not to mention how radically stoked they were when collaborating one some tunes with fine folks like Los Angeles indie rap legend Pigeon John, lending his sharp drawl to "Do Work" and giving it a blast of retro-summer vibes; leader of North Carolina's original Permanent Vacation Deep Fried Family, Rapper Shane, aka Stranger Day, dropped some phat rhymes (that sounds natural for us to say, yeah?) on "Turnt"; and Aaron Leibowitz made our panties drop with his sultry sax on a cover of The Weeknd's "High for This" before heading out on tour with ZHU this past spring.

We hope you enjoy. Though not too much; it'd be cause for concern.
