Last month, Caltrans employee Jeanie Ward-Waller, deputy director of planning and modal programs, was demoted and placed on administrative leave as punishment for whistleblowing on blatant illegalities within the organization. She caught Caltrans illegally widening highways, by intentionally misclassifying the projects so that they could use funds specifically reserved for other purposes and bypass California Environmental Quality Act and National Environment Policy Act project evaluations. In short, Caltrans leadership (such as chief deputy director Michael Keever) has been knowingly devastating delicate habitats by skirting the legally-required environmental impact assessments while publicly pledging climate solutions such as alternate transit, & using funds earmarked for other purposes to entrench auto-dependency and all of its inherent destruction. Ward-Waller has already identified numerous projects flagrantly engaged in breaking our laws, and Caltrans must be independently investigated and held accountable (if not completely gutted and stripped immediately). This is just the latest scandal in a long and twisted history of death & destruction. The world is burning and there’s no more time for this kind of evil.

Any proceeds earned from this track will be donated to Sunset for All, a group in Los Angeles that seeks to take back public spaces for the common good.
